It’s been quite a while since I worked on something special (and if I did, my bad for not posting the pics!). This is a little birthday book I created for my husband’s 35th birthday. It was a collection of all things “Dion” and celebrated the many things I love about him…
Finally finished my book about our horseback riding trip to Wildwood Ranch using My & My Big Ideas Fall kit, and black chipboard Book-in-a-Box by Cloud 9 Designs.
I haven’t used my Silhouette cutter yet, but I was so eager to pick up the QuicKutz Holly Holiday Gift Pack on sale at Scrapbooks by Design. Dion drove me to the Queen-street store during a near-torrential rainstorm, making us late for my grandpa’s birthday party…JUST so I could pick up my new toys! Oh l’amour!
In it, came some holiday-themed images, adhesive vinyl in red and green, transfer paper, and a hook and scraper to help me remove my shapes!
As I kid, I always looked forward to getting that Advent Calendar which had a different chocolate Christmas shape each day (and I would eat days in advance and the calendar would be finished by the time Christmas actually arrived).
I recently went to the 12 Christmas Cards in One Night and was inspired by the many ideas for our Christmas cards (which I will post after Christmas, so as not to spoil my designs). I thought to myself, Why not extend those designs to a book?
Then, I found an by Ali Edwards that captures all of the days in December in one little book. And now, my brain is churning with ideas. It’s a new twist to the Chocolate Advent Calendar, less tasty than the original, but definitely easy on the calories :P
This year, Christmas came a little earlier this year, courtesy of the love of my life. His reasons for this early Christmas present:
- because he knows I am happiest when I scrapbook;
- because we said we’d make Christmas cards together;
- because I said I wanted to make things for our special day;
- because he couldn’t wait.
I guess he didn’t realize that he would be reading the instructions for me, as well. Yay for me!
